Artistic Swimming Programs
Our athletes excel at Provincial, National, and International competitions, showcasing their skill and dedication. We provide superior programs and expertise in the sport of artistic (synchronized) swimming in Calgary; developing well-rounded, confident individuals to achieve their full potential.

Try a free artistic swimming (synchronized) lesson to give your child, ages 5 and up the opportunity to try this unique sport. Spend 60 to 90 minutes with an Experienced Aquabelle learning the fundamentals of synchronized swimming. This program offers parents a safe way for their child to try this sport before committing to a week long camp, Pre-Competitive or Competitive program.
Swimmers must be comfortable in deep water and able to tread water for 20 seconds.
Locations, Dates, Times:
December 5, 2024 from 5 - 6pm, Inglewood Pool
January 7, 2025 from 5 - 6pm, Acadia Pool
Pre-registration is required as spots are limited.

AquaGO! is a six level, innovative aquatic and physical literacy program for participants aged 5-12 years old.
Athletes need to be comfortable in the water with basic swimming skills.
During the first class, coaches will asses swimmers to determine their appropriate skill level. This ensures students are placed with peers of similar abilities for optimal learning and progression.
Created by Canada Artistic swimming, this new program reflects the current science behind long-term athlete development (LTAD) in the sport of artistic swimming, focusing on developing aquatic literacy as well as providing an introduction to the sport. You’re child will learn the important basic skills below:
- Floating and breathing
- Water entries
- Stroking and Kicking
- Sculling
- Body positions and water awareness
- Agility, balance and coordination
- Strength and flexibility -
Birth year: 2015 - 2017
If your swimmer is keen to advance from AquaGo! but isn’t ready for the Classic Competitive commitment then our Semi-Competitive is a great option.
It runs September through June, two days per week and gives swimmers the opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned and trained for at one competition.

The Classic Competitive Program is the perfect place for your young athlete to learn and develop in the sport of artistic swimming. You will be amazed at how quickly their skills will progress and their confidence grows. Building new friendships is icing on the cake.
This program runs from September to June, which allows for time to develop and prepare a team routine to perform at competitions. There are typically 4-5 competitions per season where the swimmers showcase what they have learned and trained for. Competitions are held in cities across the province, including Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge. In addition, experienced Classic Competitive athletes typically attend one competition per season in Manitoba, Saskatchewan or BC.
Every athlete will participate on a team in the competitive program. Some may be selected for duet or solo routines on top of team routines. Teams are structured by age and skill level, with the following levels being available:
10&Under: Birth year: 2015 - 2017. Athletes may be new to the sport or can have previous recreational or competitive experience.
Novice: 11 years and older. For athletes new to competitive Artistic Swimming.
11-12 Classic: Birth year: 2013 - 2014. For Athletes with previous competitive Artistic Swimming experience.
13-15 Classic: Birth year: 2010 - 2012. For athletes with previous competitive Artistic Swimming experience.
Junior Classic: Birth year: 2009 or earlier. For athletes with previous competitive Artistic Swimming experience.
The program currently swims out of MNP and Inglewood Pools.

Youth National: Birth year: 2010, 2011, 2012.
Junior National: Birth year: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
Senior National: Birth year: 2005 or older
The National Competitive program is for athletes interested in and committed to a high performance competitive level. Athletes in National Competitive attend and compete at competitions across the country against other high-level athletes. Top performers may also have the opportunity to compete internationally.
To be eligible for the Calgary Aquabelles National Competitive program, athletes must be experienced artistic swimmers who honed their artistic swimming skills through participation and success at the Classic Competitive level or with another club. These athletes desire to take their artistic swimming skills to the next level by entering this high-performance competitive program. Every athlete will participate on a team in the National Competitive program. Some may be selected for duet or solo routines on top of team routines.
